2010 East vs. West Showdown Results

The third annual East vs. West Showdown featured 64 teams from both the West Coast & East Coast (and scattered somewhere in between). Teams were divided into 4 separate brackets, with teams swapped each round to maximize the matchups between East & West teams.

Bracket #1
1. Risky Mormon (AZ)
2. We Started This Gangsta Shit (CA)
3. Ask About Us (PA/NJ)
4. God Given (NY)

Summary: There was an exciting loser's bracket final with juggernauts Ask About Us & We Started This Gangsta Shit. That and a combo of an absolutely torrid, Vince-esque streak of shooting with a display of the most sweet nothings ever whispered from one teammate to another from Matt of Risky Mormon.

Bracket #2
1. One Tree Hill (CA)
2. Big Trouble in Little Tokyo (CA)
3. Caboom (CA)
4. Norcal's Finest (CA)

Summary: Four California teams in the top 4... 2 for socal and 2 for norcal. Boosh. One Tree Hill won the bracket, but Big Trouble In Little Tokyo had an impressive run, beating Norcal's Finest, McAllister, and Kick Rocks Platinum - all top 10 teams either this year or last year. Caboom won 6 straight in the loser's bracket, beating 50%, Getcha Popcorn Ready, and Norcal's Finest - another set of 3 top 10 teams.

Bracket #3
1. West Fuckin Coast (CA)
2. Bobby Beirut (PA)
3. Royal Flush (DE)
4. Doin Hella Much (CA)

Summary: Bobby Beirut and Doin Hella Much both lost their 2nd round games, and both went on a roll (5 & 7 games, respectively) to place in the money. Sonoma Joe & Castro were too much to handle though as they rolled to the semi-finals.

1. Game Over Boyz (OH/MO)
2. Talk Is Cheap (MI)
3. Holy Shit (AZ)
4. Get Mitch Or Die Tryin (MD)

Summary: No west teams in the winner's bracket after round 2. A demolishing of extreme proportions. Holy Shit held it down, and won 6 straight games to at least make the $ for a west team. Zach and Dan started their great week off right by taking this bracket down.

Gary was a little peeved (or a lot peeved) that Gossip Girl didn't make a pre-WSOBP projected top 20 list. After completely handling the HP Puppet Masters at Blondies, Mike felt equally snubbed. Apparently he owned them in cash games to the extent that they said, "Herbie, we'll still play you. We're not playing Mike anymore though so find a new partner." Just off this win alone, I'm not sure they'll have to worry about recognition.
