1/29 COED Recap

First off, thanks to everyone who came out for this tournament. We had some old faces (Tyler is pushing 40 now), new faces (Bouncy Chad's mom convinced him to bring her out), pale faces (Fuel TV team dressed in goth), Seattle faces (Kendal down for a visit), mustached faces (Welch Force 1, Deebot, but no Los), Bako faces (who am I kidding- lots of Bako in the building), and by the end of the night, tired faces. With this specific tournament, all of these faces helped contribute to what was an awesome time for about 6 hours. The bar was packed, the gender ratio was favorable, and the vibe was loose and friendly.

Unfortunately, keeping tables full was not enough to get through the bracket by 2. I apologize to anyone inconvenienced by the less than ideal ending, which took place a mile down the road at the travelodge, and appreciate(d) everyone's cooperation and understanding. The next tourney (tbd) will be capped to ensure that time will not be an issue.

I tried to keep things moving as quickly as possible. Black & Yellow (Katie & Fat Kid) took advantage of a slightly thinned out loser's bracket to make it all the way to the loser's bracket final, beating Tee Tee Weez (Dustin's surprise appearance) and Cum Dumpster (Birdman Joey & Fresno Jen). Fat Kid had been accommodating to the venue transition, but seemed to take enjoyment at stymying attempts to move games along so that the tournament could actually finish. After finally taking the table for their game against What?? Jealous?? (Dan & Ted), he missed every shot, and proceeded to take his reserved spot underneath the table. The next morning, I received this text:
What does third place get? Forgiveness for annoying the fuck out of you last night? Perfect. I accept.
Gotta love Fat Kid, even when his party schedule clashes with everyone else's.

BPONG has instituted a new rule this year that two players that have already won satellite tournaments cannot play with each other at any future satellite tournaments. With this system, no one is banned from playing, but at least one new person will be a winner for each tournament. After wrapping up their victory, Paul had a very concerned look on his face as he said, "are you saying that I can't play with Malerie again?" Rest easy pong world. Paul can play with Big Mark, but he is banned from playing with SCBP's Meg Griffin until 2012. Congrats also to What?? Jealous?? for a great tournament. Their only losses came against Paul & Malerie.
