Sinko De Mayo Results

Cinco De Mayo did not inspire quite as many holiday-themed teamnames as spectators would have liked, but we did see mention of Zebra Donkeys, Tamales, Ponchos, 94.7 La Onda, and Hermanos. Another good one - So Asian We're Mexican. Non-holiday team names included a few that celebrated prison life (S#!t on my D!*@, Blood On My Knife), a programming convention (Pnoi Gang), and even the pansy French who the Mexican Army unlikely beat at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862 (Coup De Grâce [Pronunciation]).

In the end, the unlikely hero was Sean from Canyon Country. He picked up a ringer in Mike and they played as Flip Mode Squad - which is either a reference to the obscene amounts of flip cup that these two closet cases play, or to the music group who ironically released two latin themed music videos 10 years ago (Everybody On The Line Outside & Cha Cha Cha). In the winner's bracket final against a new-lease-on-life-in-LA G'd Up, Sean shot a perfect 5/5, with Mike not playing poorly either. Felipe made a rare appearance with Splash Zone, and fell right into his top 10 WSOBP form with 5 straight wins in the loser's bracket to make the final table. After doing everything but crap his pants before the final game, Sean kind of picked up where he left off, making or miss-making his first 4 shots. Even a mini slump at the end couldn't stop Flip Mode Squad, as they became the first team to win entry to the SCBP OPEN.
