3/7 Satellite Tournament Recap

With less than a week to produce enough teams to make a satellite worthwhile, it was not surprising that only 35 teams made the trek to El Segundo for the March 7th Satellite. It was a given that a couple contenders would arrive from SCBP's new Training Facility. Mike and RJ lost a bet to the Cocksmen early in the week, and would be forced to play as The Cocksmen Wives. The tables would turn later in the week, causing Ken and Gary to arrive wondering What's So Gay About Having A Cock Up Your Ass? The co-founders would answer with "nothing", because "It's Not Gay If You Take It" (bobby mcgee's, 11/15/08, boosh). Pure Filth came to the tournament reunited after a 4-month long separation, including WSOBP IV, with their beer exploits becoming the confused 8-year old child who thought she was the cause of all the problems.

A couple of other teams crawled their way out of the woodwork after disappearing for long periods of time. Heiserkotte had been living in darkness since October of '07. West Side Love vanished after November of '07. The Cervix Displacers, easily the drunkest team of the tournament, skipped a child's first t-ball game to defend their 3/8/08 championship, almost one year to the day.

New SCBP regulars The Country made a deep run. Trenor picked up a random partner to win two games in each bracket as I Get Older - They Stay The Same Age. Andrew, previous of Under Pressure and Watch It Happen, would pick up a 13' tall ringer - but could not get by Pure Filth, who looked like they didn't skip a beat. What's So Gay About Taking A Cock Up Your Ass? was brimming with confidence from their barfinder win 2 weeks ago, and took the upper hand against Pure Filth in the winner's bracket final.

Pure Filth would outlast Yugoslavian Pancakes in a great loser's bracket final (2 OTs, 1 pair of wet shorts, and too many cups hit in a row for the slightly intoxicated host to keep track of what was going on). They seemingly had all the momentum as they hit the last cup with 6 still on the table for What's So Gay... in the first game of the championship. Gary stepped up, bounced one in off the front rim, starting the biggest comeback an SCBP tournament has seen. [Video of Final Match]
