September 13th WSOBP Satellite Tournament Recap

Out of sixty two teams that came out for SCBP's Inland Empire Satellite Tournament, four proven performers made their way to the winner's bracket semi-finals. Defending Solana Beach champions Team America, SCBP juggernaut Team Kobe, Las Vegas Ringers Kick Rocks CEOs, and just-ready-to-break-through Nigerian Oatmeal were the last four standing, and the World Series Entry Fees looked to be going to one of those teams. Team America took down Team Kobe to face the CEOs, who beat Nigerian Oatmeal. Team America won yet again in the winner's bracket finals, and had the fast track to the winner's circle, needing to only win one of two games in the final match against whoever triumphed from the loser's bracket.

In the loser's bracket, a few teams lost early, but got on a roll and strung multiple victories together. Jamesons vs. Bushmill and Cervix Displacers both lost their first games, but then won 3 straight for a respectable finish. The Big Sausage Krew won 4 straight games to finish in 9th place. Teste Tossers lost their first game, then won 6 six straight to a 7th place finish. The Lone Rangers won their first game, lost their second, then won 7 straight, and finished 4th. It is a tough road back to the championship after an early loss, as teams play two rounds in the loser's bracket for every round that is played in the winner's bracket.

MyWicky: 9/13 WSOBP Satellite Champs

The team of the day though was MyWicky. They too won one game, but lost their second to Slyfidel. Slyfidel had a bit of bad luck, running into Team Kobe who shot 10/12 in their matchup. Slyfidel fell to the loser's bracket to play MyWicky, who had to win four straight games to get the chance for a rematch. MyWicky prevailed, and did not look back. They won their way through their side of the loser's bracket, then beat three of the four winner's bracket semi-finalists, including upending Team America twice in the finals. They took the longest road possible, but made it happen, winning eleven straight games in the loser's bracket, and will be going to Las Vegas to compete with the best for $50,000.
