Tournament Format?

We've always abided by standard double elimination as the tournament format. What would people think of a format that allowed for the final 2 teams to be evenly matched?

For double elim, one team wins the winner's bracket without a loss, and one team wins the loser's bracket - having had one loss. The team from the loser's bracket must win 2 straight to win the tournament.

In the modified format, the tournament would still be double elimination, but the two sides of the bracket would produce two teams from the double elim format for a best of 3 final series.

I like it. As long as (like you said) it's still double elimination so teams get at least 2 games.

Think of it in terms of 2

Think of it in terms of 2 separate 32 team brackets, with the 2 winners facing off in a best 2/3.
