2009 Spring League - Week 3

Week 3 of the 2009 SCBP Spring League saw some crazy performances, both in competition between two teams, and individual accomplishments. As teams should quickly figure out with the point distribution, a series will usually go 3-1 or 4-0. In this sense, Pure Filth had an extremely odd week. In four series, they had three that were not the 3-1/4-0 status quo. They split one cup differential (cd) point with their SP buddies on Liquid Ass (winning 2 games by 1, then losing the third by 2). They 'stole' the cd point from Hey There Sasquitch (won by 7, lost by 2 & 1). They then split another cd point with TWLB (winning two games by 2, and losing the third by 4 when Laura shot 7/8). Those weren't the only cd point oddities, as the Beer Pong Junkies and Flippy Biscuit split the cd point in their series. Later in the evening, Yippie Skippy stole game three by 5 against the Beer Pong Junkies to salvage 2 points for the series. Tribute played two series where they won two of the three games, but only came away with 4 total points as Rawr and War Kittens each stole the cd point. Listed below is week 3 specific results. Partners again went AWOL, creating potential confusion among teams trying to keep track of who they've played. Mike's (Van Wan Capistrano, Mike & Erin, and/or Mike & Sammy) original partner flaked twice, so he picked up subs. Week 3 saw another change, as he formed a new squad with Jamie of Flick The Bean, dropping their original teams to form Cock Push-Ups Anyone?. With Stephen in the house, Mike & Sammy officially changed to Tribute. Bryan (Peter's Ass<=8) & Trenor (Starsky & Clutch) were both left partner-less, so played as each other's sub for a few games in week 3. While a lot of players seemingly have no problem leaving their partner hanging, Mallory showed the ultimate dedication & teamwork in week 3, playing on a bum leg with a crutch.

Individually, Laura of TWLB got her shine on in week 3. She picked up a sub, and brought the pain, shooting 50% on the week, including three 60% games, and raising her current overall percentage from 34 to 38.5. Sixty percent games have become harder to list as there are just so many occurrences. We welcome new members of the I-shot-a-sixty-percent-game club: Michele (Taco or Burrito), Alexis (War Kittens), Frank (Liquid Ass), Tad (Superman Dat Throw), Stephen (Tribute), Jamie (Cock Push-Ups Anyone?), Alicia - 2x (In The Butt), Mike - 3x (Rawr), and Laura. Nolan (Taco or Burrito...?) gets an honorary mention here, as he had an 8/11 game on the books from week 2 in an incomplete series against Flick the Bean, which will now not be completed. On that same subject, as players have improved, we've seen a lot more players shoot 60% for a full three-game series.
