2008 Spring League - Week 6

In Week 6, The Super Vlads came back in style, with Felipe subbing for Jessica. They were tough to beat, shooting 53% in their worst series of the night, and 58% overall as a team. G'd Up forced two OT games, but the Vlads came away with both games, and ran away with the rest of the evening,going 12-0 with 15 points on the evening. We Shit on Donkeys had the most unfortunate evening - playing well against three top teams, but coming up short. In two particular games, they had 3 double backs, but still lost (to Vlads and G'd Up). The Hustlettes had the same misfortune against Pure Filth. Game Over also had a frustrating evening, as Richard and Veronica both improved their shooting, but playing well against a tough draw of opponents just wasn't enough.

With the Vlads' perfect week and games still to make up, Pure Filth has a tenuous lead in first place, and Beirut is barely holding on to 2nd place. The Vlads have 3 series to make up, in what seems to be an eventual overtaking of the top spot. Other teams that had good nights were Cherries On Top, who jumped three spots in the standings with 5 wins, and Flick the Bean who took home 7 points in only two series played.

Week 6 Team Results

In the 2007 Summer League, it took a good 4-5 weeks before we saw an individual shoot a perfect game. It has been a somewhat more frequent occurance this spring, but Sunday was a record night with 5 such games. Felipe showed up shooting the best we've ever seen - notching two perfect games on the night (8/8 vs. Donkeys and 5/5 vs. Game Over). Dan (7/7 vs. Barnes and Clark), Billy (7/7 vs. The Hustlettes), and Peter (8/8 vs. Eiffel Tower) also had perfect games. The new members to the 60% game club were Felipe (7), Drew (2), Billy (2), and Meg. Repeat offenders were Dan, Jermane, Scott (3), Jeremy (3), Brent, Dustin, Bryan (5), Kyle (2), Peter (5), Whitehorse Tyler (2), Jake (2), and Pneumonia Tyler (3). The players who shot better than usual this week were Veronica (>12.7%), Brent(>10.4%), Kyle(>5%), Alicia(>4.4%), and Pneumonia Tyler(>4.0%).
