The stench still stings the nostrils. The facilities malfunctions, which everyone must've smelled when entering the bathrooms, literally overflowed out toward the playing area at the end of the evening, making the last few matches unbearable to play and/or watch. Flippy Biscuits and Whitehorse somehow finished their match while the Wet Bandits and Flick the Bean decided to postpone game 3 until next week.
Week 3 found Summer League Champs G'd Up available and ready to play. They started off strong, ending with a 12-0 record on the week, including an impressive 3 wins versus the current points leader Pure Filth (and a less than impressive 9 wins versus three of the leagues four all-girl teams). Two of those all-girl teams, Cherries on Top and The Hustlettes, both said about their level of play, "We're playing well, but we're just not winning". Part of that had to do with each of them playing top teams in the first two series. Fortunately, they had the chance to meet in series #3, and of course the first game went to OT. Well played to both teams. The Super Vlads are good enough as it is (only 2 losses through Week 2). They definitely don't need any extra help winning games. In week 3, five individuals (we'll spare their identities) had the distinction of not making a single cup in a game, and four of those games happened in the Vlads favor.
On the individual side of things, G'd Up broke things up. Scott and Jeremy are amazingly consistent - with one carrying the other through slow matches, and ending up only a shot apart after the week was done. Unfortunately for everyone else hoping to move up in the standings, they pushed most everyone down two spots in the individual rankings, as they played to the #4 and #5 positions. Peter retained his top spot despite the worst percentage drop in the league, with Bryan and Dustin holding on to 2 and 3. In a random statistical oddity, the only players to actually move up in the standings (with G'd Up knocking everyone down) were the "Jameys"... Jaime of Flippy Biscuits and Jamie (Lolo) of Flick the Bean. Jaime and Kerrie both stepped it up a notch in week 3, shooting well enough in week 3 to raise their overall percentages by more than 1.5%. New members to reach the 60% mark for a single game were Lolo, Scott (2), Jerbear (3), Grant, Jesse, and Mr. Pneumonia who exhausted himself with one series of rehabilitation. Repeat Offenders of the 60% mark were Dan (2), Brent (1), Dustin (6), Jessica, Bryan (5), Logo, Kyle, and Peter (3).
